These stories are tailored to increase in difficulty, aiding students in practicing target words, sounds, sight words, and building comprehension skills through engaging narratives. Each reader includes word lists, fluency sentences, comprehension questions, black-and-white illustrations, and a Scope & Sequence, suitable for Grades K-3.
The readers focus on skills such as VCV and VCe spelling rules, vowel blends and digraphs, three-syllable words, schwa, endings -tion and -sion, sounds of ch, final s as in is, spelling with affixes, sight word recognition, automaticity and fluency, and beginning comprehension.
Recipe for Reading from EPS is a research-based, multisensory, phonics-based reading curriculum designed for struggling readers in Grades K-6 or beginning readers in Grades K-3.
