Trick Geography Africa is a helpful tool for students to learn the names of African countries, their capitals, and topographical features in a fun way using mnemonic tricks. Students learn one region at a time and identify shapes that correspond to country names, such as drawing the shape of Morocco as a maraca. Capitals are taught by adding an object that sounds like the capital name, for example, adding a robot playing a maraca to represent the capital Rabat. Additionally, students learn geographical features by using simple sentences that build on the country name. The curriculum progresses from learning countries, then capitals, and finally other information. The book includes tests and is 59 pages long, consumable, and non-reproducible.
This book is suitable for Grades 3 and up. For elementary schedules, two maps per week can be covered in a 5-week program, while middle school and up schedules can cover two to three maps per week in a 7-week program. Please note that the Trick Geography Africa Teacher's Guide is required to use this student book as it contains only worksheets and not the lessons themselves.
