The Math Mammoth Light Blue Series was created by a math teacher and homeschool mom. It includes full-color Worktexts that are easy to understand and complete. The Worktexts cover all the necessary skills and concepts and offer practice problems and mental math challenges. Unlike other math programs, Math Mammoth focuses on teaching number sense and understanding concepts, not just memorizing math procedures. Each chapter teaches a specific concept step-by-step before moving on. At the beginning of each chapter, parents can find overview materials and links to online games and worksheets. Worktext A and Worktext B are sold separately, but together they provide a full year of math instruction. The Tests & Cumulative Review book and Answer Key are also sold separately. The Canadian version of Math Mammoth is similar to the US version but uses Canadian dollars to teach currency and includes the Canadian system of metric measurements. The large numbers are formatted with a space for the thousands separator, and Canadian English spelling is used when applicable. This book is suitable for 4th graders.
