Singapore Math Home Instructor Guides were designed with homeschoolers in mind. They serve as a teacher's guide that is tailored to work in an individualized environment. To help bridge the gap between the textbook and workbook, the guides offer unit concepts pages which explain concepts and reference numerous reinforcement and practice exercises, along with detailed solutions presented step-by-step. Suggested timeframes for each unit are included, but they are not structured by daily lessons. This allows parents to determine how much time to spend on a particular concept. This Home Instructor's guide can be used for either the 3rd Edition or the Primary Math Textbook 3A U.S. Edition. The guide is 156 pages and spiral-bound with a softcover.
Inside the guide, there are notes for the instructor with some mathematical background for each section in the textbook, an objective for each lesson, teaching activities that use manipulatives, reinforcement activities, and game activities. Additionally, there are answers to corresponding textbook pages and learning tasks for the lesson, as well as answers to the corresponding workbook exercises.
The Manipulatives section on page vii of this Home Instructor's Guide refers to an appendix. However, the pages for this appendix were inadvertently left out. A link is provided to access the manipulatives section on Singapore Math's website.
