The myView Literacy English Language Arts Curriculum for Grades K-5 is designed to inspire lightbulb moments in students as they gain a deeper understanding of texts, stories, and language. This innovative curriculum, structured as a workshop model, integrates literacy content with social-emotional learning through project-based inquiry, covering themes from social studies and science. Leveled Readers provide high-interest topics for both guided and independent reading. Each Unit of Study introduces a theme and essential question, with weekly sections leading to a culminating project-based inquiry activity. Lessons include a reading workshop with an infographic, a foundational skill focus, a main reading selection in various genres, a reading-writing bridge, and a writing workshop. MyTurn questions and Turn and Talk sections encourage comprehension and collaboration, while Reading Bridge activities focus on author's craft, word study, spelling, and language conventions. Writing Workshop features daily minilessons for genre immersion and writing skill development, and Book Club allows for literature discussion.
