The sourcebook units are divided into two parts: Build skills and word experiences and Assess words and skills. The former focuses on understanding how all words function by learning about their correct usage. In the latter, students receive specific spelling words based on their performance in whole-class story and dictation tests, where the words they miss become their spelling words for further practice.
